How Do You Like To Shop?

I love online shopping. Mainly cause it allows me to be at home and see what I want without any pressure. I do love to shop don't get me wrong, but I shop differently online than I do in a store. I want and crave everything in a store; when I shop online, I feel like I am "window shopping". It must be something about not touching and loving on the item and needing instant gratification. I don't really purchase online because I would then have to wait. I gather ideas of things from online and magazines things, I want, things I desire and put into my fun binder (see right: I created these in the 90's and love them. I have several. I even made one for a friend that was fantastic! I hope she still loves it.) Also, you are able to find really great deals sometimes with online shopping and stuff you wouldn't normally see in the stores, especially not on sale. Many of them if you join, and invite a friend, you receive $10 if they purchase, which is a pretty good deal.Think about if everyone you knew signed up and just bought one thing? Fantastic! $$$ for you! Some of my favorites are Rue La La, Bluefly, Gilt Group (where you get $25), Beyond the Rack and YOOX and for home, One Kings Lane. I am not sure I know that many of the online home furnishings stores, but have a good feeling my friend Shay would know.

If I email you, and you haven't already joined, sign up under me and if you have joined tell your friends to do the same for you. I would like to see what happens!

Let me know what other online shopping sites you like and which you like better online or instore?

Jack and Diane....

I WANT this puppy! It is one of the live auction items at The KidneyTexas luncheon this coming Wednesday, September 8th. I have been wanting a black and white dog, little girl, for sometime now. I want to name her Diane, which I find hilarious and have had many crying, peeing, laughing fits with my friend Nikol on this very subject, so that I will have Jack and Diane, from the John Cougar Mellencamp song. "little diddy bout jack and diane" She is just too precious. I can't stand it. I hope she goes to an excellent home. I may be searching for a look-a-like Mi-Ki! Are you kidding? Those eyes, and little round ears. and that sweet little mouth and nose! so yummy, needs a kiss! I hope it raises tons of money for KidneyTexas and the programs it serves in the fight for kidney disease.

Trend Report: Green!

Dior Buckle Detail BootiePrada Camo Platform PumpChristian Louboutin Flannel Over-The-Knee BootYves Saint Laurent Roady Hobo, Large Jean Paul Gaultier Jersey Ruffled-Side DressAs I read my latest Neiman Marcus trend report email, I fell in love with several of the items and even more so the fact that green is a trend for fall. I love green, I have it in my home furnishings and because I am a red head, don't look half bad in the color. These five items particularly caught my eye as they aren't the bright green that you would think of, but a more subtle way to wear the hottest color and make it more of a neutral. I also love the trend of camouflage, which seems to be prevalent as well in shoes, wallets, clothing.

So it's time to start thinking about fall (even though it's the heat of the summer and we are still buying summer wear) and start finding your perfect item so you aren't green with envy when everyone else is in the newest color trend! l

Post what you find for your go to green item if you get something, I would love to see your green items!

My Rebirthday #?

something just dawned on me. when I have always had my surgeries it has been in the summer, more b/c I was out of school, as was mom and so it made it a natural selection for timing. I was born in the summer. interesting. many of my surgeries have been on or around my birthday. many of my birthday parties, which my sweet mother has held, some even being surprises, have also been good luck, we love you as you go into surgery parties.

with each surgery I have been given a sort of "new life" and it just dawned on me that it is a rebirth each time. a REBIRTHDAY! I am looking forward to my rebirth this year.

take care of your heart,

XoM

POP UP VIDEO! pop.- Tuesday, July 13th

OMG!! I just sat down at my desk, have had VH1 Classsic on all night... and Pop Up Video just came on!!

It's hilarious. I used to watch it when Brandon and I first started dating.

Tonight R.E.M's Everybody Hurts (which by the way was a fave in highschool) is being "popped" It's such a serious song and the pop ups are so funny and interseting.

If you haven't seen it, they put little conversation bubbles up through the video and tell you fun little tidbits about the actors in the video, the singers, how the video was created, etc. an example is one of the guys in the video was cast when he tried to sell roses to the casting director. Funny!

Bonus: some of the information is quite educational!

I do believe that you heard it on Superficial first... so interesting! http://www.pinkmemo.com/national/szish-dish/essie-turqoise-caicos

rhythm, you have to get into rhythm with your partner. For instance, i learn by watching and observing him. his mannerisms, his quirks, his habits, that way I can cope with what is second nature to him, but not to me.

In our home life, he does the laundry, I fold it, he does the dishes, I put them away, I organize, he cleans. It is a happy rhythm we are in, but we have to continue working in that manner.

I think we have to observe and watch our partner to learn, rather than expecting them to adopt to the way we want it done. It takes away our individuality, our past experiences. It denies us what is rightfully ours, ourselves. We have to nourish our own souls to understand the souls of others.

Isn't Peace truly what we want? in order for it to be in the world on a global level, doesn't it start behind your "four walls".

peace and love, XoM

This is my screen shot for last night. You can see the many things that go on in my brain during the day. I think it is interesting to know how people think and this is one way to see what and where their intresets level lies. Who they are as a person and what they think about.

I was watching some trash news station about the break up of what's his name the pilot from Dallas, (so glad he's ours- proud moments) oh yea, Jake Pavelka, and about to leave to go to Target wait for that post! Then meet my mother to eat at Olive Garden , will be on the youplusdallas.com restaurant blog soon. Then to the airport to pick up my step- sister and step- dad from DFW.

Back to the task at hand... my question to you is what does your screen shot look like on any given day? Take it and send to me and tell me what you were doing at that time.

Summer's Nail Polish Confirmed!

Started going through emails today and landed on this most interesting newsletter! goes along with the days discussion of my toe nail polish. I also LOVE gel nails right now so this email hit the "NAIL on the head." http://www.stylelist.com/2010/06/15/the-5-biggest-nail-trends-for-summer-2010/

Urban Market Trip

Well, my trip to Urban Market was fantastic! However, I did have a partner in crime, which is good b/c I went past it and tried to go down a one way street. Ah the joys of downtown life. Sarah was most helpful in getting me there, well, sort of, it still happened, but at least I had someone to commiserate with. If it weren't so hot, it actually wouldn't be that far to walk from my office.

The market is just like a regular grocery store, but there is also a restaurant with many choices such as burgers, entrees, quesadillas, salads and sandwiches. AND they have a full bar! Strangest thing found there: hookas at the bar with many flavors. Pictures later.

I still haven't found Dallas' underground yet and not sure how to. I will continue my journey to the unknown.

Shopping on the DL

I'm venturing out for lunch today and going to Urban Market. I have been dying to go see what this "under ground Dallas" is like... today is the day! More to come of my adventure.

My Your Toes Look Terrific!

I'm kind of obsessed right now with toe nail polish. I have been for some time, but am really enjoying my summer color of Turquoise and Caicos by Essie. It is so close to "the little blue box" It's the perfect chill color, that also gives a funky high fashion look with a pair of great shoes! It gets tons of comments just like my spring color of Jade is the New Black by OPI. For fall I can't wait to see what comes, but still kind of in love and looking forward to returning to a sweet old friend called Linkin Park After Dark and then come the winter colors...

First Time to Interview on Video

So tomorrow I am conducting my first on camera interview for You + Dallas! So excited, but nervous at the same time... nervous b/c I want it to go well, with great inspiring, intriguing questions. Not the normal stuff. I am interviewing Amanda Sterett, to talk about her jewelry and how she creates her pieces from thought to jewelry store case. We are then shooting part of my show open and close... so fun!
